Don rang me to say he would be over but he didn't come. He must have had to go on Home Guard.

Thursday 11th June 1942

Wynne still on holiday but not been through yet. Don came over in the evening as he's not on Home Guard.

Wednesday 10th June 1942

Went over to Mitcham. Watered all the garden. Don had an interview & gone back to his old HG Company. Quite his old self again.

Thursday 28th May 1942

Stopped in all evening. Don on HG again. Went to bed a bit earlier.

Thursday 14th May 1942

On Fire Watch tonight & Don on HG. Met don in the pm for a little while. Played Table Tennis till one am Friday morning.

Tuesday 12th May 1942

Very dull morning. Not seeing Don as he is on HG. Stopped in all pm. Washed my two new frocks. Look OK at the moment.

Thursday 30th April 1942

Don on HG again. Stopped in all evening & had a lazy time.

Tuesday 28th April 1942

Stopped in this evening as Don is on HG duties. Did nothing special.

Saturday 25th April 1942

Met Don at 4pm. Went to Mitcham. There at 7pm & went over to Ida’s with Johnnie’s bicycle. Left at 8.30pm as Don on HG at 9pm. Got home at 9.40pm. Was still ***ing ***y at 12 o’clock.

Thursday 16th April 1942

Don on HG duty. Stopped in all evening. Mum & Hilda went to the Forum. Dad also went on Home Guard.

Tuesday 7th April 1942

Surprise Freddie Radford came through. Been on sick leave. Wants me to go out Thursday. Did not see Don as he is on Home Guard Lecture.

Tuesday 24th March 1942

Don came through lunch time. Will be coming over tomorrow. He's on HG duties tonight so I stopped in all evening & went to bed early.

Tuesday 17th March 1942

Nothing very special happened. Stayed in all evening. Don gone to Head Quarters about new job in H.G.

Monday 16th March 1942

Don came over after HG duties. Did not stay long. He's going to make us a curb.

Thursday 12th March 1942

Don on HG duties. Stopped in during evening. Freddie Barnard came over but did not stay long.

Sunday 8th March 1942

Don on HG duty in afternoon so he came over in the pm. He was in a bad temper so didn't stay long.

Monday 2nd March 1942

Played Table Tennis with Popesgrove. Got home rather late. Don on Home Guard so didn't see him.

Monday 23rd February 1942

Worked late. Did not see Don as he was on Home Guard all night. Went to bed early.

Thursday 15th January 1942

Cold morning. Not a bad day. Felt better as the day went on. Don came over but had to go on HG duties, so only stayed about ½ hr.

Sunday 19th October 1941

Don came over in morning. Went to Clapham Common for a drink. Don went on HG at 2pm. Went over his place in evening.
