Saturday 13th June 1942
Freddie Barnard came up again. Don came up in the afternoon. Went to see "How Green Was My Valley" at the New Vic. Very good film. Girl next to Don sobbed her eyes out.

Tuesday 9th June 1942
Chilly morning. Met Don at the Forum. Quite good films. Liked the new star Alan Ladd. Don caught his last bus home.
Saturday 30th May 1942
Met Fred & went to Wembley to see the London Cup Final. Portsmouth should have won. Saw "The Man Who Came to Dinner" in the pm.
Saturday 23rd May 1942
Went to the Forum with Don saw "Good Morning Doctor". Not so bad as "Johnny Eager". Slept over at Don's place.
Friday 22nd May 1942
Met Don from work, then went to Putney & saw Robert Taylor in "Johnny Eager". Not so good.
Saturday 16th May 1942
Don met me just as I was going out to meet him. Went to Putney & saw Abbott & Costello in "Keep on Flying". Quite a good film.

Friday 15th May 1942
Up early. Met Fred & saw Reap the Wild Wind". The best film I’ve seen for ages. Went to Princes & had a couple of drinks.

Sunday 10th May 1942
Played Billiards with Dad in the am. Had late dinner then went to the Granada Tooting. Not a bad film. Don left late again.
Thursday 23rd April 1942
Left work at 4pm. Mum Hilda & I went to the Gaumont. Saw "Hot Spot", but not so good as [illegible].

Tuesday 21st April 1942
Went to the Forum with Mum & Dad. Saw "Man Power" & Somewhere in Camp". Very good films. Enjoyed them very much.

Monday 20th April 1942
Met Don at Wandsworth & we went to the [illegible]. [illegible] & "Touch of Fervour" [?]. Very good films. Don went straight home.
Wednesday 8th April 1942
Don came through in am. Not at work again – been to doctor's. He came over early & we went to the Metropole & saw Bob Hope in "Louisiana Purchase". Very good.

Tuesday 31st March 1942
Don rang me up in the am. Had a tooth out. Came over in the afternoon. I had 1/2 day. Went to see "Blood & Sand". Not so good.

Sunday 29th March 1942
Don came over. I've got a vile headache. Got rid of it after a couple of aspros. Saw the "Corsican Bros" in the pm. Best film we've seen for a long time.

Sunday 22nd March 1942
Don came over in the afternoon. Went to the New Vic again. Saw "Dive Bomber". In Technicolour. Very good film. Don left early to do some work.

Wednesday 11th March 1942
Had 1/2 day. Took Mum to the Gaumont. Saw "Ride Em Cowboy" with Budd Costello & Ron Abbott. Not so good as their 1st film. Don brought in some fish & chips & Freddie Barnard came over later. Not seeing Don till Saturday.

Thursday 5th March 1942
Went to the pictures with Mum. Saw Bette Davis in "The Little Foxes". Very good film. Don came over later in the evening.

Friday 27th February 1942
Saw Fred. Went to see Hellsapoppin [sic]. Did not think a lot of it. Would rather see Hold That Ghost.

Saturday 21st February 1942
Went over to Don's in the afternoon. Went to the Granada & saw Hold That Ghost & Sullivan's Travels. Both very good films. On Fire Watch in pm. Got there about ten. Did not stay up late.
